In our Ripples room, the team of caring and qualified Educators focus on creating secure attachments with every child. They recognise that by doing this children supported and are more confident to explore, discover, and become independent. There is a strong focus on encouraging the foundations of early social relationships through role-modelling and encouraging language and communication, negotiation, empathy and self-expression
Our safe and supportive Ripples environment, routines and programs entice the babies and toddlers to explore their curiosity, promote a sense of inquiry and wonder, and encourages social engagement.
Having our own outdoor playspace is integral to the youngest members of our room being safe yet having the opportunity to explore and develop. As they grow they have the chance to build on these skills as they venture into the larger outdoor space and all that it offers.
The input of families is highly regarded as we gain an understanding of each child's daily needs, and as these needs change as they grow. Routines such as eating, sleeping and toileting are based on the information provided by families and in turn we build relationships and positive 2-way communication with each family which is highly valued in the nurturing of their child.
As our toddlers learn and grow, there experiences within our program change and lead into orientation time in the Waves room in preparation for that transition when the time comes.
The curriculum of this preschool room encompasses a play-based, hands-on approach which provides the children with many opportunities to experiment, investigate, question and problem-solve. Resources are available for children to select and guide their own play either alongside peers or in collaboration with others.
The role of the Educator is to challenge, facilitate and support each child's developing curiosity, play and skills in all areas of development. We build trusting relationships with every child and make ourselves available for each one of them as they develop autonomy and independence throughout the day.
Our holistic approach to learning recognises that each child has unique skills and needs and emphasises the the intellectual, emotional, physical and spiritual development. Educators challenge, facilitate and support developing curiosity, play and skills as well as self-help and independence.
You will regeularly see STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) experiences on offer, as well as creative arts and fine motor experiences all in a literacy and numeracy rich environment.
Although we view school preparation as commencing from the baby and toddler years, there is a greater focus in the year before school on those skills and abilities viewed
Our large outdoor yard encompasses what it means to be a child. Running, jumping, exploring, making friends, our outdoor environment nurtures these moments.
Being located in a semi-rural area provides us with unique opportunities to observe and investigate local flora and fauna, nurturing the children's understanding of the interconnectedness between plants, animals and humans.
Our large garden offers further learning opportunities as the children learn about seasonal planting, pollination, plant life cycles, the role of creature in our eco-system and participate in garden to plate opportunities through continued care of the garden alongside educators.
We also utilise the wider outdoor community spaces as part of our outdoor classroom, taking walks to the local beach, park, and other community spaces to deepen our understanding of the wider community and our role as active citizens and caretakers of the land.
Enrolments take place throughout the year as positions become available and in accordance with the Governments Priority of Access Guidelines.
We encourage anyone enquiring about enrolling at our centre to make an arrangement to come in and have a tour. This is a great chance to see our exceptional facilities and see what we can offer your child. For many this is their first time placing their child in an early learning centre so they have many questions and sometimes can be quite anxious about it...let us help ease that anxiety.
Once we have a position available we will contact you. You are more than welcome to come back for another visit before accepting, and we encourage visits by the child and parent/s before starting. Our enrolment forms are online and you will be sent the link to complete this.
Being licensed by the Federal Government, fee subsidies fall under their domain which is the Child Care Subsidy. You can apply for this through Services Australia and once eligibility is assessed and processed, the subsidy is paid to the centre families then pay the gap fee. 3 and 4 year olds are also currently eligible for Start Strong Funding to reduce the cost of fees at one centre.
The essentials are: a backpack with spare clothes, a lunchbox with morning tea snack and lunch, and a drink bottle is optional as we have a water station available for the children to use all day. We ask that everything you bring for your child is labelled (including shoes and socks!). Your child will receive a hat upon enrolment.
Further information on other essentials will be included in your enrolment package once enrolment is confirmed.
Give us a call on 0265592020 to chat about availabilities and being put on the waitlist.
The next job to complete is create/log in to your MyGov account and make sure all of your details are up to date with the Family Assistant Office. This will make the process smoother if you are all set up.
This is a tricky one to answer, as it is hard to tell. However, as we work through the waitlist, other families circumstances may have changed, which means they no longer require a space at our place. This could happen multiple times, which moves things along quickly.
